*COUGH*

I have a nasty cold this week. Partially from last weekend and the VERY little sleep I got in combination with the VERY MUCH alcohol I drank. Of course, I'm busy at work all week and can't actually take any sick time.

The upside is, they see me working while sick, so when I call in just because I want a day off, no one will question it.

The downside is, I actually WANTED to play hookie this week too! Lawyer Dan made a cute proposition that we go to TrannyShack and then spend the next day together.

Dan and I had another date last night. I was totally lame. I wanted to take him ice skating or something unique and fun. Instead, I'm all stuffy and tired and drugged up, so we went to dinner and rented a movie. At least it was a snuff film, so I should get some points for creativity.

Fernando

One of my old friends from Detroit came out to visit this weekend. Fernando drinks more alcohol than should be physically possible. And stays completely conscious to boot!

Needless to say, it was a rough weekend. I woke up still drunk on Sunday morning.

Friday night he got in late so we went for a few quick rounds in the Castro. Saturday we went drinking with the Robs. Fernando found a trick, unfortunately, several hours after the Robs went home. Of course, Fernando didn't know I wanted a Rob Sandwich, so I can't blame him.

It ended up being a good thing. I've been chatting with a guy I met online (ugh yes I was bored while I had the epic cold sore and went online). Dan is cute, a little wacky and an attorney. He sent me a text that he was coming to 440, so we finally got to meet in person. By meet, I mean we talked for a half hour and then made out for the rest of the night.

I shipped Fernando off on Friday afternoon. That night, I got to hang out with Dan again. This time we actually did more talking. Turns out we have a lot in common. Very fun guy. Then we shamelessly made out for a couple hours at the Lookout before heading our separate ways home.

This too shall pass...

My weekend plans have totally done a 360. After last weekend being soaked up by Band Camp, and having work suck up all my free time this week with "Team Building Exercises", I was looking forward to a weekend of drinking.

This EPIC cold sore I got from playing Tuba all last weekend has changed that. No Rob Sandwich tonight, no date with Eric tomorrow. :( So now I will be spending the weekend playing video games at home, which is fun too. But yeah. Rawr.

I'm Not 17 Anymore

Band camp was a lot of fun. And completely exhausting! I don't remember marching tuba being this hard. Maybe it was because I was a teenager.

I played a little worse than I thought I would on the first day. I was a lot better than I thought I would be on the second day. Overall, I was very pleased with how well I fared.

Another night in the city

Sometimes I just want to run giggling to the Castro. This city is so much fun!

So Far, So Lazy

So the New Year's resolutions are a mixed bag. Still smoking, but using the gum a lot (makes me less gassy, I like these better than the urinal cake lozenges). I won't be able to smoke all weekend, so that should help. I have only drank 3 or 4 times since New Years, so the goal of cutting back is certainly working. And I was HUGE after eating out with some friends at Myth the other night, so yeah, moo.

So last night I went out drinking (tehe). I met a guy named Fernando. Fernando is a hot little Peruvian personal trainer. Rawr. We'll see if it ever turns into a date.

The next two days I will be at band camp. I'm a little nervous as I haven't really played a brass instrument in 12 years. I rented a trumpet for three months so I wouldn't be totally horribly rusty when I get there. I will be just mostly rusty now. Thank god Contrabass is easier (embouchure wise) than trumpet, because my range is shit on the trumpet right now.

Feliz 2008!

I'm not big on New Year's resolutions, but I'm going to take a hack at it this year.

1. Smoking - FFS I have to quit. I just don't have the time and energy to smoke anymore. I threw out the last of the pack I had this morning. I'm going to do the urinal cake lozenges. They make me gassy and headachy, but they keep the cravings away.

2. Gaining Weight - I want to gain 10 pounds this year. I've switched to a four day training schedule (four days on, two body parts a day, one day off). I think marching contrabass will be helpful in this as well.

3. Drinking - So I go out a lot. Probably too much. I spent $600 at the bar in December! The goal is to curtail it a bit to $400 a month. Maybe not go out every freaking night...
